This doodle was also made in June and inked in December. I have made more of this little tribal things while chatting or on the Phone, Most of the times at the café I was working on a beer felt. But I lost the rest of all those doodles. Or sometimes I just gave it away.
This is a doodle a did on the back of the a-ha sketch. If you look at that Linery, you might see the lock of Morten’s hair in here. I doodled it in June, I just inked it in December.
This was an ARK for some one and was later formed into a set. It was supposed to be 4, but I only made ‘True Love’ of the set. I think the others were ‘Soulmate’ and ‘Best friends’, but I’m not sure. It has been too long. I did however do a variety of colours of the hearts seperately.
I visited my sister-in-law at the Efteling where she danced in the show with Hans Klok. I draw this to ask her if she could arranged him to have it signed. Instead I could go backstage for signing.
Here also I found it very hard to find a good photograph. I didn’t like it much, but redoing it was futile, since it was already signed.
I took my drawing materials to draw on my holiday. I had been thinking about it the entire time and didn’t know want to draw. This was kind of a forced drawing. Hoping it would sparkle some inspiration. After drawing Hans Klok I hadn’t drawn in months. The well was dried up.
I made this while waiting to do some IQ tests for mensa. In those days I was still very shy and introvert. I thought if I had something to draw it would tale my mind off things. I did a pencil sketch there and turned it into ink at home.
To make such a linery of a face, it can sometimes be hard if you can not find a good photograph. Pal Waaktaar isn’t shot on photos af frequently as Morten Harket and even less than Magne Furuholmen. So it was very hard to find a decent one to work with. Looking back the result is okay, but I remember in those days really unsatisfied.
Second of the set for the collage.
This is also from a set of three I actually finished. At the meet and greet each bandmember would get a collage of photos made by their Dutch fans. I had no photos so I made a drawing of each.
This is the first attempt of making faces into linery. At the time I liked it a lot and have been doing it for a while. If you look at my newer face linery, the style has obviously changed.
Reasons to stay Indoors is from an album by the band Savoy, a sidekick band of Pal Waaktaar.
